Both Oreca LMP2 of the Inter Europol Competition had a great start. Alex Brundle started from 15^th in the #34 and gained six places, while Fabio Scherer (from 24^th) gained nine positions ahead of the first stop at the 30-minute mark. Both cars moved into the top ten in the second hour and stayed around there throughout the third and fourth hour. In the third hour, David Heinemeier Hanson took over from Scherer, while Esteban Gutierrez took the wheel from Brundle in the fourth hour.
