9 February 2026
• Double podium finish in the final race of the season
• P2 in LMP3 for the #13
• P2 in LMP2 for the #43
• P2 in the LMP3 championship for #13
Inter Europol Competition concluded the Asian Le Mans Series season with a strong double podium finish in the final race at Yas Marina Circuit, as both the #13 LMP3 and #43 LMP2 entries secured second place in their respective classes.
In LMP3, the #13 entry faced early setbacks after starting from second on the grid, with Alex Bukhantsov spinning at the first corner and rejoining at the back of the field. A spin in the opening phase added to the challenge, but following a safety car period and a prolonged red flag, the crew regrouped and recovered strongly after the restart. Strong stints from Bukhantsov and Henry Cubides Olarte moved the car back into contention, before Jimmy Chou brought the #13 entry home inside the podium positions to secure second place in class.
In LMP2, the #43 Inter Europol Competition entry delivered an impressive recovery drive. After restarting near the front following the red flag, the team worked through the field with consistent stints from Georgios Kolovos and Bijoy Garg. Nolan Siegel produced a standout final stint, moving the car into second place in the closing stages to secure a P2 finish.
Inter Europol Competition ends the Asian Le Mans Series season with a positive result in Abu Dhabi, with both crews delivering strong performances in challenging and disrupted conditions.
QUOTES
Sascha Fassbender – Team Principal
“This year’s Asian Le Mans Series was very tough for the team, especially coming straight from Daytona and then into the double-header in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. We struggled a bit in LMP2 in Dubai, but the team came back strongly in Race 2 with a P2 finish, which gave us a good result. We always aim for more, but the main focus of this championship was driver development, and I think we achieved that alongside some strong results.
In LMP3, I feel we were the true champions. We won three races out of six, and it was only the disqualification that cost us the championship — something that would not have happened in Europe. Despite that, the drivers did an amazing job throughout all the rounds, and I’m really looking forward to ELMS in 2026 with Alex, Jimmy and Henry, where we will fight for the title.”
Jimmy Chou
“We finished the season with a solid second place and second in the championship. It was very close to a win, but we’re grateful for what we achieved. A huge thank you to the team for their hard work — now our focus turns to ELMS.”
Henry Cubides Olarte
“It was an unfortunate start to Race 2, and despite the time lost with Alex’s spin, he managed to recover up to P5. I jumped in the car for the second stint, which was a short one, before Jimmy finished it off and secured second place. I’m happy with the team’s performance and the championship overall — we really showed what we are capable of in this series.”
Nolan Siegel
” It feels great to get a result that rewards everyone’s hard work over the past few weeks. It’s been a challenge, but I’m proud of the effort and of everyone for finishing strong in the finale. It’s been a pleasure working with the team again, and I wish them many more podiums for the rest of the season.”
