Spa: practice makes perfect

8 June 2017

The Inter Europol Competition team will participate for the second time in the GT&Prototype Challenge, this weekend at Spa from 8 ? 11 June. This will be the first time this year the team will visit the Spa circuit, a favorite of many drivers. The second time will be with the ELMS in September. This weekend Kuba Smiechowski (POL) will be the only driver in the #203 Ligier LMP3 while the #204 will be shared by Martin Hippe (GER) and Philippe Bourgois (FRA).

Smiechowski and Hippe will try to score more points this weekend. Smiechowski has 33 points, 12 points behind the leader, Hippe 24 points. And obviously getting to know the track in the LMP3.

Martin Hippe: ?I am really looking forward to my Spa debut. I?ve been here a lot of times as engineer, but never as a driver.?All these famous corners like Eau Rouge or Blanchimont let me really look forward to this great weekend ahead.?But for me the main focus for the weekend, besides helping my new teammate, is to learn the track and to prepare myself and the car as good as possible for the ELMS race in September.?

Philippe Bourgois: ?I am very excited to come back to Spa, my favourite track amongst all others ?. by far! Probably the track where I raced most of my races, but the pleasure is still the same as the first time! Also very exciting to learn about the Ligier LMP3 which I will discover with a lot of interest. While I will be happy to learn about this beautiful car from my teammate, I will help him to learn about the most beautiful track of the world. Fun and emotion will be there, obviously.?

Kuba Smiechowski: ?It is always nice to race at Spa. I’ve been here many times and like this track very much. I had some good results in the last race at Zandvoort, but I believe that this weekend I can achieve even better. I’m hoping that this also will be a good practice for the upcoming race of ELMS.?
