Inter Europol Competition heads into the final round of the 2025 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta looking to seal the Michelin Endurance Cup title in LMP2, holding a five-point lead heading into the 10-hour Motul Petit Le Mans.

After four endurance rounds – Daytona, Sebring, Watkins Glen, and Indianapolis – the #43 Inter Europol Competition Oreca 07 Gibson leads the standings on 37 points, ahead of both TDS Racing and United Autosports USA on 32. The team will now aim to defend that margin across Petit Le Mans’ unique points-scoring stages at the four-hour, eight-hour, and finish marks.

Battle for the Endurance Cup

The Michelin Endurance Cup rewards performance across IMSA’s long-distance rounds, with points awarded at intermediate intervals and the finish. Inter Europol’s strong, consistent showings in each event have earned them the lead going into the decider, with a maximum of 15 points available at Petit Le Mans.

To clinch the Endurance Cup title, the #43 car must:

  • Score within the top three at two of the three Petit Le Mans points segments, or

  • Finish ahead of both TDS Racing (#11) and United Autosports USA (#22) at any two of the scoring marks (4h / 8h / finish).

Even a conservative but consistent performance could be enough for Inter Europol to secure the IMSA Endurance Cup crown – a fitting reward for a year of relentless teamwork and reliability.

Overall championship

In the overall LMP2 standings, the #43 currently sits fifth on 1784 points, just one behind TDS Racing and seven behind Riley. While the main championship battle is between AO Racing and United Autosports, Inter Europol remains firmly in contention for a top-three finish overall with a strong result at Road Atlanta.

Team Quotes

Sascha Fassbender – Team Manager

„We are excited to be in a leading position in the endurance championship going into the final round, we have proved again that Inter Europol has a very fast car at every round and on all different types of tracks. Let’s hope that carries into Road Atlanta and come away with the trophy. The drivers, engineers, and crew have shown they are at the top level again this season, so let’s hope we come away with the trophy to reward everyone’s efforts.”

Tom Dillmann

„Reflecting on the season so far we have had a lot of pace, I would say even more than last season when we won the championship. Unfortunately, we are not in a position to go back to back due to too many mechanical misfortunes. The goal is to win the iconic race and take the Endurance cup title.”

Jeremy Clarke

„I am excited for my first Petit Le Mans and finishing the year strong. We are still in the fight for the endurance championship, and all focus is on bringing home that trophy for the team! It is going to be a tough battle, but I am confident in the team.”

Bijoy Garg

” I am looking forward to finishing the season on a high at Petit Le Mans! Although we aren’t in the championship fight due to some issues out of our control, we are in a good position for the Endurance Cup, and one of our goals is to win that. Road Atlanta is a track I have had past success at, and I hope to replicate that success this weekend.”
