(English) Inter Europol Competition Claims Dominant LMP2 Victory at CTMP
13 lipca 2026
Inter Europol Competition secured LMP2 victory in Sunday’s Chevrolet Grand Prix, the latest round of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, converting Saturday’s record-breaking pole position into a memorable race win.
After securing pole position with a new LMP2 track record, Jeremy Clarke made a clean start from the front of the field, maintaining the lead through the opening laps as the two-hour and 40-minute race got underway.
An early Full Course Yellow interrupted the opening stint, with the #43 Oreca cycling back to third following the first round of pit stops. However, Clarke continued to showcase the pace that earned him pole position, working his way back into the lead before handing the car over to Tom Dillmann with just over 90 minutes remaining.
Dillmann picked up where Clarke had left off, delivering another strong stint to keep Inter Europol Competition at the front of the LMP2 field. With the race entering its closing stages, the team completed a final splash of fuel with just nine minutes remaining. Dillmann rejoined still in the lead and controlled the final laps, taking the chequered flag by more than nine seconds to seal a well-deserved victory.
The result completes a remarkable weekend for Inter Europol Competition, with the team backing up Saturday’s pole position and LMP2 track record with an impressive performance on race day.
The victory also provides redemption after last year’s race at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, where the team looked set to claim victory before a late mechanical issue brought their race to a heartbreaking end. Twelve months later, Inter Europol Competition returned to complete the job, standing on the top step of the podium.
The victory sees Inter Europol Competition move into second place overall in the LMP2 Teams’ Championship, strengthening the team’s title challenge as the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship heads to Road America on August 2nd.
