(English) Jeremy Clarke Secures LMP2 Pole for Inter Europol Competition at Watkins Glen
28 czerwca 2026
Inter Europol Competition delivered an outstanding qualifying performance at Watkins Glen International, with Jeremy Clarke securing LMP2 pole position for Sunday’s Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen.
Originally scheduled for earlier in the afternoon, the 15-minute bronze driver qualifying session was delayed by almost three hours following track repairs and modifications to the Inner Loop chicane. Despite the extended delay and changes to the circuit, Clarke adapted superbly to the evolving conditions, setting a fastest lap of 1:35.124 aboard the #43 Oreca 07 Gibson.
The result marks Clarke’s second IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship pole position, following his pole-winning performance at the Rolex 24 At Daytona in January, and places Inter Europol Competition at the front of the LMP2 field for Sunday’s six-hour race.
The Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen gets underway tomorrow at 12:10 local time (18:10 CEST).
QUOTES
Jeremy Clarke
„It feels like it’s been forever since I’ve been in the car, having last raced at Sebring, but I have a lot of confidence and a lot of trust in this car. I was ready to go, but with the three-hour delay I had to get back into my pre-race routine and regain my mental focus. Thankfully, I was able to do that. My number one goal is always to bring the car home in the best possible position without a scratch on it, so that’s always my main focus. Thank you to the team for a great car, and I’m looking forward to tomorrow.”
