Winning the championship is the goal at Portimao

29 October 2020

The Inter Europol Competition green and yellow Ligier #13 LMP3 still has a good chance to win the European Le Mans Series 2020. The team is second in the championship with only 10 points behind the leader United Autosports. The four Hours of Portimao will be the deciding race to win or not to win the championship. Dino Lunardi will once again share the car with Hippe.

?

It will be the last race of the team with the #34 Ligier LMP2, as in December the team will receive its new Oreca LMP2. Kuba Smiechowski, Rene Binder and Matevos Isaakyan will, once again, go for a top 5 finish.

Martin Hippe: ?After our first win of the season at Monza we want to take the momentum into the last race here at Portimao. It wasn?t an easy season for us but we?ve seen that hard work pays off in the end. We still have the chance to win the ELMS championship and we will fight to the last moment, as we all know how fast things can change especially in endurance racing.?

Dino Lunardi: ?Obviously, I am very happy to be back with the team for another race. I am here to give my full 100% for the win of the race and the win of the championship.?

Kuba Smiechowski: ?Again we want to go for a top five finish. We have been so close, but then also unlucky in the last race. This race is the last race with the Ligier. It?s only been a year and a half ago since we raced it for the first time. And our second race was Le Mans. Now we are taking the next step. I am curious to see what this will bring us.?
