It’s going to be hot…

6 August 2020

Not only the temperatures forcasted at Spa of 30 – 33 degrees for the second round of the European Le Mans series (Sunday 9 August), but also the battle for another podium place for the #13 Ligier LMP3, driven by Martin Hippe and Nigel Moore.

For the Kuba Smiechowski, Rene Binder and Matevos Isaakyan in the Ligier LMP2 #34 it will be the battle for a place in the top five. In the first race of the season at Paul Ricard, #34 finished in 7th place so a top five spot is the next target.

#13 Martin Hippe: “Racing at Spa is always a pleasure. I really like Spa, it’s more an old fashioned track with gras runn-off areas and gueardrails, which reminds me of the times I started racing. With the new generation LMP3 cars the fast and famous corners at Spa are even better than last year! After our second place here last year and the second place at Paul Ricard, the target for the race on Sunday is clear, we want to fight for the win. For sure it will be a hot race.”

#13 Nigel Moore: “I am as always happy to be back on track here at Spa. Obviously this weekend for us it is getting as much championship points as possible. No mistakes, just fast clean driving.”

#34 Kuba Smiechowski: “It is going to be hot. Hot is the car and a hot battle for the top five. But as most drivers I love this circuit and looking forward to racing it again.”

#34 Matevos Isaakyan: “Since my first race here in F4 I always loved this track so I am very exited to come back to racing at Spa. We learned a lot from our first race and will do our best to show it.”

#34 Rene Binder: “it’s great to be back in Spa! I love this track since I first drove in a F3 car years ago and I was always strong here. It will be challenge to set up the car for this circuit and it will be tough race this Sunday as we expect more than 30 degrees on race day”.
