INTER EUROPOL COMPETITION READY FOR ELMS SEASON FINALE AT PORTIMAO
17 October 2025
Inter Europol Competition heads into the final round of the 2025 European Le Mans Series this weekend at the Algarve International Circuit, aiming to close out a competitive season with a strong finish across both LMP2 and LMP3.
The Polish team arrives at the 4 Hours of Portimão with its #43 LMP2 entry firmly in the hunt for a top-three championship result after a consistent season, while the #88 LMP3 car is tied on points for second in its class heading into the finale.
LMP2: #43 fighting for top-three in the championship
After five rounds, the #43 Inter Europol Competition Oreca sits third in the LMP2 standings on 74 points, just one behind IDEC Sport (75) and seven off leaders VDS Racing (81). With 25 points available for a win in Portimão, the fight for the runner-up spot – and potentially the title – remains open.
The crew of the #43 have been consistent front-runners throughout the season, scoring strong points finishes and staying in contention at every round. A podium or better this weekend could see the team end its 2025 campaign second in the standings, depending on rival results.
The sister #34 car sits ninth in the championship with 23 points and will look to close the season on a high after showing strong pace at several rounds this year.
LMP3: #88 level on points for second
In LMP3, the #88 Inter Europol Competition Ligier enters the finale tied on 58 points with M Racing in the battle for second place, while CLX Motorsport leads the standings with 104. The #88 crew have enjoyed a consistent and competitive season, taking podiums and strong points finishes to remain in the top three all year.
A solid performance in Portimão could secure second in the championship and mark another strong result for the team’s LMP3 programme.
Team Quotes
Sascha Fassbender – Team Manager
“For LMP3, we’re proud to be fighting for second place in the championship. Congratulations to CLX Racing on a dominant season win — that’s something we’ll aim to catch up on next year. I hope we can secure P2 overall, as our three drivers have done a fantastic job, scoring points at every race.
For LMP2, we’re in a close fight with VDS all the way through. I hope it remains a fair and exciting battle until the very end of the championship. We can’t underestimate IDEC either, but based on what we’ve shown so far, our goal is clear — to win the ELMS championship.
Winning Le Mans for the second time this year and now fighting for the ELMS title highlights the strength and capability of the entire Inter Europol Competition team — drivers and crew alike. I’m extremely proud of everything we’ve achieved this season.”

“I am very excited for the season finale, after what has been one of my best seasons yet. The only race where we weren’t on the podium was Barcelona, where he had technical issues. I think this track suits us quite well, so I believe in a strong finish to the season.”
Tom Dillmann
“We had another very strong year, 4 podiums in 5 races so far in this field is very strong. Winning Le Mans, the biggest achievement in LMP2 can’t be beaten but we can add something big to an already great season with the ELMS title. I don’t feel like we executed the perfect race or had any luck going our way so far in ELMS, every races have been hard fought and coming so close to the win. Let’s take that win for the last one!”
Nick Yelloly
“I’m really looking forward to getting going this weekend. I raced here last year in LMP2 and really enjoyed the track. We’ve been competitive at every circuit this season, so there’s no reason we can’t be again going into the final round. With just seven points separating us in the championship, there’s a lot on the line — but if we continue to execute at the high level we have been, there’s no reason we can’t win the race and the title.”

Luca Ghiotto
“It’s been a tough season. The results we’ve brought home are far from our goals and expectations. ELMS is such a competitive championship with only six races, so it’s really hard to perform well — you have to make the most of every single opportunity. The goal for the final weekend is to push hard, finish the season on a high, and bring home a strong result. Everyone in the team deserves it.”
Pedro Perino
“This season hasn’t been the easiest — we’ve struggled in general throughout the rounds. Our best result was at Spa, finishing in the top five. I’m really looking forward to this final round as it’s my home race. I love driving here and usually feel strong and quick around this circuit. I want to deliver the best performance possible in front of the home crowd — it’s my favourite track and event on the calendar.”
Jean-Baptise Simmeneaur
“I have been really happy to be part of the team this year, we have been able to pull some strong performances all around the season, now is time for a final push and I hope we can reach the podium for this final round.”

“This year in ELMS has been incredible, and is only my second year in LMP3. I feel like I’ve really got on top of the car, and it’s a lot of fun to drive. I’m sad the season is already coming to a close, but Portimão is one of my favourite tracks on the calendar, and I’m looking forward to one final big push for a result.”
Douwe Dedecker
“Heading into the ELMS finale, I’m feeling motivated and ready to finish the season strong with Inter Europol in LMP3. It’s been a season full of learning and growth, and I’m proud of the progress we’ve made as a team. I’m looking forward to giving it everything this weekend.”
Reece Gold
“Coming into the weekend fighting for second in the championship, it’s been a really exciting season and a big learning year. Overall, it’s been very positive, and now heading into the final race, we’ll give it everything and hopefully come away with second in the championship.”
