Happy but unlucky

6 June 2021

All signs were green to reach the target set for the European Le Mans Series race at Le Castellet: top three for both the Inter Europol Competition cars. All six drivers were happy with their Ligier LMP3s. The cars were fast and perfectly balanced. But after one hour Martin Hippe in the #13 was unlucky as he came in contact with a GTE car, with a broken radiator and a Not Classified as a result.

?

Mattia Pasini in the #14 Ligier LMP3 had a great start from 15th place. After three laps he was fourth and a couple of laps later, in second place. With two full-course yellows, one safety period, and a bit unlucky with the strategy, Pasini and teammates Julius Adomavicius and Mateusz Kaprzyk, finished in sixth place.

?#13 Martin Hippe: ?My start was good and the car was really really good. We had a perfect balance today and a good pace, so it?s a real pity I had contact with the #60 GTE car. I had a moment of contact with the same car a few corners before when a car in front of both of us spun. The second time we touched lightly but it was enough to break the radiator and I had to stop the car.?

# 14 Mattia Pasini: ?I am happy with the work this weekend, especially as I had not raced on this track before. The quali was not the best, but for sure my stints were amazing. I went from P15 to P2, so that was a job well done. I look forward to the next race as we have high potential.?

Sascha Fassbender: ?This weekend we had high hopes. And I am sure that if we would not have had the accident, we could have ended on the podium. We are now fourth in the championship so we will have to fight hard in the next races. For us, the only way is back up.?
