ELMS season finale was held at the Portuguese track of Estoril. This is a difficult and twisty track with a very long main straight. During the entire weekend alternately looked out the sun and rain. At the time trial we took 15th place. We didn’t worry much because we knew that our race pace is much better than would indicate time trial. Some time before the start of the race it stopped raining and the track very slowly started to dry. We decided on slicks. The beginning of the race was very chaotic. Kuba has managed to break a few positions. After a few laps the situation stabilized and began to make up for losses. Shortly after the change of drivers came out Safety Car. We were little disturbed, because others could use it to make a change, but fortunately it wasn’t that bad. Immediately after the restart, race became chaotic again. Unfortunately another driver crasher into Jens and damaged our rear light. We did not have to return immediately to box to fix it, we could do it at the next scheduled pit stop. At that time we were on the 3rd position. Our mechanics did a great job and fixed the light in no time! During the standstill we lost about 20 seconds more than normal. We left at 4 positions. Jens did what he could, but was not able to keep the carfrom the stables of Graff Racing, behind and finished the race in 5th position with a loss of 16 seconds for fourth place.If it wasn’t for replacement lights or any other cases,in which our drivers were embroiled no fault of their own, the result could be even better! Nevertheless, we are pleased with the strong end of the season and our best result so far in this series. In two weeks will be VdeV series finale in which we will fight for the championship!
