Dijon, a new track for the team to learn for their LMP3
22 June 2017
Back in 2015 Kuba Smiechowski won the Boss GP race in a GP2 at Dijon (FRA). Now the Inter Europol Competition team is back to race with their two LMP3?s. The team once again joins the VdeV this coming weekend (23 ? 25 June). The #22 car will be shared by Kuba Smiechowski and Hendrik Still while, new to the VdeV but not to the team, Philippe Bourgois (BEL) will share the #33 car with Paul Scheuschner. His regular teammate Xavier Michel will be back later in the season.
After three races Smiechowski is third overall in the LMP3 standings. With having missed one race, Still is in 5th place and Scheuschner in 8th place.
Both Still and Scheuschner will not participate in the qualifying session as they will be racing at Paul Ricard in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo. So it is up to Smiechowski and Bourgois to go for pole position.
Michael Keese (Technical director): ?It will be the first time at Dijon with the LMP3. But luckily in de VdeV series you have a lot of free practice and qualifying time to get things right. Smiechowski obviously knows the car very well and Bourgois has raced the LMP3 at Spa. Together with the engineers they will get the set up right for the race for all four drivers.?
