Barcelona VdeV (Spain)

17 April 2016

Jakub Śmiechowski and Martin Hippe in their first start with the new Ligier LMP3 and their first endurance race ever finished second! The 4 hour race from the VdeV series in Barcelona started very well. Jakub after few laps was already in the lead. Despite tricky conditions (wet track and low temperatures) he managed to end his stint without any problems, all the time staying in the lead. The next hour belonged to Martin. The track was already dry so we made the change for slick tires. When Martin came into the pit for another driver change and refueling. Unfortunately, a small mistake during that pit-stop cost us the first position and we dropped to second. From that moment on Kuba and Martin drove flawlessly, switching behind the wheel at the 3 hour mark, making up some of this time, but not enough. We are very proud of our drivers and if not the lack of experience in endurance races, the win was ours to take! The next race will take place in Silverstone with the ELMS.
