A GOOD RACE BUT A DISSAPOINTING END

29 June 2019

It was a very very very warm weekend (28-29 June) for everyone in the paddock of the Ultimate Cup Series at Mugello. Thursday, Friday and Saturday saw temperatures of around 40 degrees and little to no wind. But the weather did not influence the qualifying result. Third was the best of the season for Paul Scheuschner, Edward Jonasson and Moritz Müller-Crepon. But it did not help the race result. While in fifth place and with a possible podium in sight, and with 36 minutes to go, Müller-Crepon and the #9 LMP3 touched and both ended up in the gravel. Too much damage finished the race a bit too early for the team.

Sascha Fassbender (Team manager): “Both Edward and Paul did a great stint and the team prepared a quick car. For Edward, it was his first start in LMP3, but as he is still on a steep learning curve, he was a bit too careful at the start. Paul is really good on his way and a quick learner. With Müller-Crepon that was a sorry race accident. We were on the way to a possible podium and so was the #9.”

Next race for the team: ELMS Barcelona 19 – 21 July 2019
