Unfortunately, for the Inter Europol Competition team, it was another weekend with results to forget. Not because the drivers were not hugely motivated and fast (they were), or that the cars had no speed (they had) or were not well prepared (they were). Just no luck; it was nowhere to be found.

In short: getting hit by another car when in fifth position on lap three and then having to come in for extensive repairs (LMP3 #13); lying in third place with the first podium finish in sight, and then ending up in the gravel just two laps before the end (LMP3 #14), or just missing the opportunities of using any of the six full course yellow windows to your advantage (LMP2 #43).

A good result would have been very rewarding for the mechanics, engineers and all others in the team who worked extremely hard over the last couple of weeks. They have been on the road nearly full time with two WEC and ELMS races back to back and some testing in between.

But, with Le Mans on the horizon and with a two-car team entry in prospect, perhaps it was better to get the bad luck out of the way this week!

Noam Abramczyk: ?It was a pretty good race as we qualified in P3, and in the race, we took the lead on the second lap. James and Mateusz both did a great job, but unfortunately, we had a mechanical issue at the end with only 5 minutes to go. Tough luck, but that is also racing.?

Guilherme Oliveira: ?We finished our second ELMS race today. It was a hard-luck day because we had a really bad start. Charles could not avoid contact with a Ferrari, and we compromised all of our race. We had to come in for repairs for three-quarters of an hour. We did our best to recover and still could score some points. I was happy with my stint. We live and learn and now full focus on Monza.?

Fabio Scherer: ?The car was pretty good today and had a solid pace. Pace for P4 or P5. The problem, in my opinion, was that we hit every full course yellow wrong. And then you don?t have to look at your pace or where you are; you lose 40 or so seconds every time. Now onto Le Mans.?

Sascha Fassbender (team manager): ?With the #13, we were very unlucky early in the race. But the guys in the box did a super job to get the car back on track. With the #14, we were on our way to the podium, but it was stranded with the finish line in sight. I am really sorry for the crew; they earned it. With the #43, we did not have a spectacular race and were also unlucky with the full course yellow. Now we focus on Le Mans.?
