Inter Europol Competition delivered a composed and perfectly executed performance to claim its second consecutive IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship victory in the six-hour Motul SportsCar Grand Prix at Road America.

The race was marked by incidents and major accidents across several classes, leaving most of the LMP2 field on the back foot. The #43 Oreca 07 Gibson remained clear of the trouble, with Jeremy Clarke, Bijoy Garg and Tom Dillmann combining outstanding pace with controlled driving, strategic execution and fuel management throughout the six-hour race.

Starting from third on the LMP2 grid, Clarke immediately fought his way to the front of the field. He kept the #43 clear of the incidents unfolding around him and delivered an exceptional opening stint, establishing the car at the head of the LMP2 field before handing over to Garg in the lead.

Garg continued the team’s impressive performance, maintaining first position and holding off some of the leading Silver-rated drivers in the field with ease. He remained composed throughout his stint and kept the #43 at the front before a drive-through penalty dropped the car down the order.

Despite the setback, Inter Europol Competition remained composed and set about recovering the #43 to the front. Dillmann delivered an exceptional final stint, combining relentless pace with controlled driving to bring the car back into contention. While managing fuel, he reclaimed the lead as the team committed to completing the race without another pit stop.

A late Full Course Yellow brought out the Safety Car, allowing Dillmann to conserve the remaining fuel before the race finished under caution. He crossed the line first to complete an outstanding recovery and secure Inter Europol Competition’s second consecutive IMSA victory, following its success at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.

The result reflected a complete performance from all three drivers and the entire team, together with perfectly executed strategy from the pit wall. Remaining clear of the incidents and responding calmly to the drive-through penalty demonstrated Inter Europol Competition’s continued development in IMSA competition.

The victory keeps Inter Europol Competition firmly in the championship fight. The team remains second in the LMP2 standings, just 36 points behind the leaders with two rounds remaining.

Inter Europol Competition now returns to Europe for the next round of the European Le Mans Series and Michelin Le Mans Cup at Spa-Francorchamps, with racing set to resume on 23 August.
