  •  Victory for #13 LMP3 after commanding race
  • #34 LMP2 secures P2 following dramatic late-race battle
  • #43 LMP2 secures P7 after a challenging race

Inter Europol Competition delivered an outstanding performance in the second round of the European Le Mans Series at Circuit Paul Ricard, securing victory in LMP3 and a P2 finish for the #34 LMP2 entry after a competitive race.

In LMP3, the #13 entry of Alex Bukhantsov, Jimmy Chou and Henry Cubides Olarte claimed a superb victory. Starting from P3, Bukhantsov made an excellent start to take the lead early in the race, showing strong pace as one of the fastest Bronze drivers on track. Despite briefly losing position due to tyre pressures, the crew remained firmly in contention.

Chou continued the middle phase with solid pace, keeping the car in the fight, before Cubides Olarte took over for the final stint. Delivering a composed performance, he led throughout his stint with strong pace and control under pressure. Despite minor issues requiring a reset, the crew remained consistent, ultimately securing a well-deserved victory.

In LMP2, the #34 entry of Bijoy Garg and Reshad de Gerus produced an impressive performance to finish P2. Garg made a strong start from P3, holding position in the early stages. De Gerus then took over and steadily worked the car back through the field, with the #34 showing excellent pace as the race progressed.

In the final stages, the #34 was engaged in a close battle for the lead with the #22 United Autosports entry, with both cars pushing hard in a competitive fight for position. A moment of contact saw both cars spin, dropping the #34 down the order. Despite the setback, the team responded immediately with a quick fuel stop and a strong recovery drive, climbing back to P2 in the closing stages to secure a well-earned podium finish.

The sister #43 entry of Kuba Smiechowski, Luca Ghiotto and Tom Dillmann showed strong pace throughout the weekend but faced a challenging race. Starting from P6, Smiechowski completed the opening stint before Ghiotto moved the car forward with a strong drive, including a defensive stint while running near the front. A pit stop just before a Virtual Safety Car impacted track position, with the timing working against the crew. Dillmann took over for the final stint and continued to push forward, with the car ultimately finishing P7.

The victory and the sound of the Polish national anthem on the podium felt even more special as Poland celebrated Constitution Day.

The result marks another strong weekend for Inter Europol Competition, with a race win and podium finish further reinforcing the team’s competitive start to the 2026 European Le Mans Series season.

QUOTES

Henry Cubides Olarte
“So P1 here in Paul Ricard — our second podium of the ELMS season. We got a bit lucky, but we’ll take the win. Alex did an amazing job, saving two laps of fuel, which played a big role in the race. Jimmy also did a fantastic job. At the end I had a small hiccup having to reset the car, but we were always in the fight and managed to pull through to P1.”

Jimmy Chou
“So happy to win the second round of the ELMS season. We had great pace and I’m really happy with the result. A big thank you to the team for making this happen — I really appreciate it. Looking forward to Imola.”

Reshad De Gerus
„P2 here in Le Castellet. We gave it everything, and it’s a bit disappointing not to go back home with a win, as the team gave us an absolute rocket. It was a close fight for the lead, but it didn’t go our way.

We still scored good points for the championship, and we’ll keep pushing for what’s to come next.”

Bijoy Garg
„Another good weekend with another podium. We struggled a bit at the start in practice, but improved throughout the weekend, and Reshad had a strong qualifying session. To be as fast as we were and miss out on the win is disappointing, but P2 still gives us good points for the championship.”
