Return of the 2016 VdeV LMP3 Champion

5 April 2017

The 2016 winner of the VdeV championship LMP3 class, the Inter Europol Competition team is back to defend its title. Today the Inter Europol Competition Team is participating in the first official two-day test of the season of the VdeV championship at Magny Cours.
This year Kuba Smiechowski will be joined by Hendrik Still. The second car will be piloted by Paul Scheuschner and a driver who will be named shortly.

It is going to be a very busy year for the team.

Not only will the Inter Europol Competition team participate in the VdeV but they also have an LMP3 entry in the European Le Mans Series. The drivers in this championship are the 2016 VdeV-LMP3-champions Kuba Smiechowski and Martin Hippe.

The third series the team will participate in, is in the Boss GP series. In 2014 Kuba Smiechowski won the championship but lost the following year by just one point. This year he will be back to fight for the title.

The fourth series for the team with one driver confirmed and a second a maybe, is the ESET V4 Cup with current Formula Renault 2.0 cars. Very inspiring is that the confirmed driver is Robert Siska. The oldest driver in any championship (he is over 70 years old) he has been racing in the Formula Renault 2.0 car for many many years. The second driver is very familiar with the team and will hopefully be confirmed soon.

Michael Keese (teammanager): ?The biggest change from the last years is that we switched our main focus from the Formula Renault 2.0 for the much more future proof LMP3 in the VdeV and the ELMS. Preparations are well under way for all four championships and we are all looking forward to this season. It is going to be very busy but also very exciting. We are working very hard to possibly enter another car in the ELMS but are still looking for another driver.?
