Martin Hippe back in the #13 LMP3

19 February 2021

The winter has seen steady progress with the preparation of Inter Europol Competition?s pair of Ligier LMP3 cars for the new European Le Mans Series season.? The #13 is ready to race, with plans for the #14 Ligier JS P320 almost complete.? The team is very happy to have, once again, Martin Hippe, the ELMS Vice-Champion in 2018, 2019 and 2020, back behind the wheel in the #13 Ligier. His teammates will be announced shortly.

With the team own driver Jakub Smiechowski now racing in the WEC with the Oreca?LMP2, the team is now even more focused on their two LMP3s in the European Le Mans Series fighting for the championship.

Sascha Fassbender (team manager): ?We are happy to have Martin with us again. He is one?of the fastest and most consistent bronze drivers since 2017. Even though our balance between LMP2 and LMP3 have shifted a bit, our drive and our challenge for 2021 in the?European Le Mans Series remains the same. We want to win the championship. The mechanics have worked very hard to get both cars ready to race. However, we are still looking for one or two drivers who like to join us this season to fight for the title.?

Martin Hippe: ?It will be my fifth season with the team. I know many people are a bit?doubtful, but motorsport is my hobby and I am a true bronze and have been since 2017 and that will not change?anymore.?I run my own structural engineering company with 55 staff, so once I am at the track, I can get my head free and gather new energy for my business. I am happy to have been part of the LMP3 project and look forward to seeing?what we can do to win the ELMS.?
