And we’re back!
20 March 2018
With a busy winter behind us with lots of organising, working on all of the cars, test days, decisions to make, many many emails, staff coming and going, cancelled test session at Magny Cours because of snow, brings us this weekend to the first VdeV race weekend at Barcelona (Friday 23 and Saturday 24 March).
This year we will not only bring our two Ligier LMP3 to the track, but also have two Formula Renault 2.0 with us. One for the young Edward Jonasson (#8 car) from Sweden and the other for Nico Varrone (#11 car) from Argentina. They will participate with 18 other FR2.0 in the two 30-minute single seater races.
Our winner of last year and the year before, Kuba Smiechowski, is now partnered in our LMP3 #22, with another young Swede, Pontus Fredricsson. Fredricsson joined us last year for one race in the VdeV and one in the GT&Prototype championship.
In the #33 LMP3 Paul Scheuschner will race with German Peter Elkmann. Scheuschner finished 8th in the VdeV last year and will also race this year in the ELMS. There he is partnered with Hendrik Still. Still shared the 2017 VdeV win with Smiechowski. Elkmann joined us last year in three races in the VdeV and in two out of the three races he finished on the podium.
Barcelona is the first of seven race weekends in the VdeV championship. 33 cars will start in the Endurance GT/Tourisme/LMP3/PFV/CN category of which 17 LMP3s.
So here is to a good start of the 2018 season. We are looking forward to it and hope so are you!
