A second LMP2 and an LMP3 entered in the Asian Le Mans Series
20 September 2019
The Inter Europol Competition team is happy to announce the entry of two more cars in the Asian Le Mans Series. Besides the Ligier LMP2 entered with Kuba Smiechowski as driver, a second Ligier JSP217 is entered for Nathan Kumar and John Corbett. To defend the 2018-2019 Asian Le Mans Series LMP3 title, one Ligier JS P3 is entered with the successful driver duo Martin Hippe and Nigel Moore.
John Corbett: “Glad to have signed up with the team for Asia! I had a great test at Spa, the Ligier is such an amazing car to drive. Looking forward to Shanghai.”
Nathan Kumar: “I am really excited to be getting back to Asia and getting to know the LMP2. I raced at Shanghai in an LMP3 but the other circuits will be new for me. I work really well in the heat, so we will be hunting for good results.”
Nigel Moore: “I am happy to go back to Asia and will push to get another title for the team. Martin and I work good together, so it will be fun.”
Martin Hippe: “It will be another exciting Asian Le Mans Series season in LMP3. The expectations are high, but the pressure of defending the title will make it even better.”
Michael Keese (Team Director) “It’s good news to be able to announce two more cars in the Asian Le Mans series. We are happy to have John and Nathan with the team. They are both new to racing in the LMP2. And as John has not raced any of the tracks and Nathan has only done Shanghai, it will be a steep learning curve for both. Martin and Nigel will be our drivers who will push to extend the title, a big task, but if anybody can do it, they can.”
The full driver line-up for #34 LMP2 will be announced shortly.
