WEC round two: looking to bounce back
3 May 2022
The Inter Europol Competition team is looking to bounce back from the tough race at Sebring, where technical issues caused everybody headaches and saw the Oreca LMP2 #34 finish in 14th position. In round two of the WEC at Spa-Francorchamps, Alex Brundle will be with the team again, as, in Sebring, he could not drive because of Covid. Last year here at Spa, in the team?s debut season with the WEC, they qualified 11th and finished 5th.
?
Alex Brundle: ?I am always excited to go to Spa, and as my first race of the year, it will be a challenge to get back up to speed with the whole field having competed once already. But I am up to that. I think the team needs to bounce back from what was a difficult first round, and I will be supporting them to the best of my abilities and looking forward to a solid result.?
?
Esteban Gutierrez: ?Spa-Francorchamps is one of the classics; driving around this track is an incredible experience. I?m looking forward to working with and developing the team forwards. My target is to build up from the first race in Sebring and deliver our best possible performance.?
?
Kuba Smiechowski:? ?I am very happy to get back in the car since it feels like Sebring was ages ago. I wonder how this year’s car will compare to last season’s specification. It’s the last stop before Le Mans, so I hope we will show our performance.?
