Clear target for the #13 LMP3 at Barcelona
18 July 2019
The Inter Europol Competition team is at Barcelona for the third round of the European Le Mans Series with their #34 LMP2 and their two LMP3 with numbers 13 and 14. #13 drivers Martin Hippe and Nigel Moore are targeting the highest step on the podium. Paul Scheuschner and Sam Dejonghe in the #14 LMP3 target another top 10 finish. French driver Adrian Tambay joins Kuba Smiechowski and Dani Clos in the #34 LMP2.
LMP3 #13 Martin Hippe: “I like this circuit in general. It’s a very challenging track with fast parts like turn 3 and some slow parts where you really have to break hard. The mix makes the track interesting. We have been here with the VdeV and done a lot of testing, so we know the track very well. We could have done with a bit more luck in the last two races, but we were third and we were second. So our target is clear for this race.”
LMP3 #14 Sam Dejonghe:“Barcelona is a great track, a bit more technical difficult compared to Monza, and the aim will be to make a difference here. Together with Paul, we’re excited to get going again, perfect our cars’ setup and better out overall performance. At least better than the 9thplace we had last race.”
LMP2 #34 Dani Clos:“I’m very happy and honored to race back at my home town. It’s a track that feels like my home and racing here with ELMS for me it’s a very big satisfaction. Our people, fans, family will be attending so we will have to show them how we’ve improved since the first race. I’m happy too with Adrian joining the driver line up and I do believe that we will be able to do a good job. I want the Spanish people to get to know the championship and be more involved with ELMS. See you on the 19th and 20!”
