Adam Christodoulou joins the Inter Europol Competition team for VdeV at Paul Ricard
22 May 2018
The Inter Europol Competition team is, once again, back at the circuit of Paul Ricard this weekend (25 – 27 May) for the third race of the VdeV championship. In the #22 LMP3 it will be the usual driver pairing of Kuba Smiechowski (POL) and Pontus Fredricsson (SWE). In the #33 LMP3 it will be regular driver Paul Scheuschner (GER) who will be joined by Xavier Michel (FRA) and Adam Christodoulou (ENG).
Michel has raced with Scheuschner last year in the first three races of the VdeV season. Christodoulou will join the team for the first time. Christodoulou is official Mercedes AMG driver and brings a lot of experience to the team, though it will be his first time in an LMP3. Smiechowski and Scheuschner had a lot of practice at this track, as last month the official test days and the first race of the European Le Mans Series took place there.
At the moment, the #22 car is leading the VdeV championship, while the #33 is in fourth place.
Adam Christodoulou: “I’m super excited about this weekend, I’ve just come from back to back podiums in my last two races at the Nurburgring 24 hours and Silverstone 3 hour Blancpain Endurance Series. This will be my first ‘V de V’ and prototype race debut. Paul Ricard circuit is a track I know extremely well and always had good success at in a GT car, so I’m really looking forward to this new challenge and working with the drivers and the team.”
The team’s two Formula Renault 2.0 will also be at Paul Ricard. Edward Jonasson (SWE) is back in action. He is second in the championship. The other FR2.0 is raced by the 75-year-old Robert Siska (USA). Siska has been racing with the team for a long time and participated last weekend in the Rundstrecken Trophy at the Red Bull Ring.
