Monza, here we come…
9 May 2018
For the second race of the European Le Mans Series, the Inter Europol Competition brought its two Ligier LMP3 to Monza, the most iconic circuit of Italy. The #13 car is driven by Kuba Smiechowski and Martin Hippe, the #14 by Paul Scheuschner, Luca Demarchi and Hendrik Still. Still was Smiechowski’s teammate in the 2017 VdeV season.
Smiechowski and Hippe finished 6th in LMP3 in the first ELMS race at Le Castellet, Scheuschner and Demarchi with guest driver Henning Enqvist 12th. Here in Monza, the sights are set on the top five finish for the #13 and a top 10 for the #14. Last year Smiechowski and Hippe finished 6th at Monza.
Kuba Smiechowski (POL) #13: “I do like the location of the circuit, in the parc, in its unique green surroundings. But it is not my all time favorite circuit. Of the ELMS circuits my favorite is Silverstone. But I feel best at Zandvoort. Here at Monza a top five place should be do-able and it will keep us on our toes.”
Luca Demarchi (ITA) #14: “I’m very happy we are racing this weekend in Italy. I love Monza circuit for it’s history and it is also my home circuit as I live not very far away. I have worked on a simulator these past weeks and will also use the experience from the Paul Ricard race to find a good performances here.”
