Following a busy month of racing, Inter Europol Competition continued its strong start to the 2026 season across both the European Le Mans Series and Michelin Le Mans Cup. Across Barcelona and Paul Ricard, the team secured three pole positions, four podium finishes and an LMP3 victory.<\/p>\n

In the European Le Mans Series, the team claimed one pole position and four podium finishes across LMP2 and LMP3, while two pole positions were secured in Michelin Le Mans Cup competition.<\/p>\n

European Le Mans Series<\/strong><\/div>\n
Inter Europol Competition began the 2026 European Le Mans Series season in Barcelona with podium finishes across both LMP2 and LMP3, marking a strong opening weekend for the team across all three entries.<\/p>\n

Round 1 \u2013 Barcelona | 12 April 2026<\/strong>
\n#34 LMP2
\nBijoy Garg and Reshad de Gerus secured P2 after showing winning race pace throughout the weekend. The pair remained firmly in contention across the race, delivering an encouraging opening result to begin the 2026 ELMS season.<\/p>\n

#13 LMP3
\nThe #13 entry claimed a podium finish following an impressive recovery drive from the back of the grid. Despite the challenge, the crew fought through the field to secure a strong result in the opening round of the championship.<\/p>\n

#43 LMP2
\nThe #43 crew showed promising pace throughout the weekend in Barcelona, but technical challenges during the race prevented the trio from fighting further forward. Nick Yelloly, Tom Dillmann and Kuba Smiechowski nevertheless recovered to finish P5.<\/p>\n

The team carried this form into Round 2 of the championship at Circuit Paul Ricard, where Inter Europol Competition secured victory in LMP3 alongside another LMP2 podium finish.<\/p>\n

Round 2 \u2013 Paul Ricard | 3 May 2026<\/strong>
\n#13 LMP3
\nAlex Bukhantsov, Jimmy Chou and Henry Cubides Olarte secured victory after a commanding drive, delivering the team\u2019s first ELMS victory of the 2026 season.<\/p>\n

#34 LMP2
\nThe #34 crew once again finished on the podium with P2 following a dramatic late-race battle for the lead. After showing strong pace throughout the race, the crew continued their consistent start to the championship with a second consecutive podium finish.<\/p>\n

#43 LMP2
\nThe #43 entry recovered to P7 after strategy timing around a Virtual Safety Car impacted the race. Despite the setback, the crew once again demonstrated competitive pace across the weekend.<\/p><\/div>\n

Michelin Le Mans Cup<\/strong><\/p>\n

Inter Europol Competition continued its Michelin Le Mans Cup campaign across the opening rounds in Barcelona and Paul Ricard, with both entries showing competitive pace in a highly contested LMP3 field.<\/p>\n

Round 1 \u2013 Barcelona | 12 April 2026<\/strong>

\nAlex Bukhantsov secured pole position in Barcelona before he and Shawn Rashid went on to finish P5 in the opening race of the season.<\/p>\n

#43 LMP3
\nWilliam Karlsson and Christian Dannemand J\u00f8rgensen finished P12 following a competitive opening round, continuing to build experience within the championship.<\/p>\n

The team carried this form into Paul Ricard for Round 2 of the season, where the #34 entry once again secured pole position.<\/p>\n

\nAlex Bukhantsov secured a second consecutive pole position for the #34 car, before Bukhantsov and Shawn Rashid went on to finish P4 after once again demonstrating front-running pace throughout the weekend.<\/p>\n

#43 LMP3
\nWilliam Karlsson and Christian Dannemand J\u00f8rgensen showed encouraging pace throughout the weekend before their race unfortunately ended in retirement following technical issues.<\/p>\n

Following the opening rounds in Barcelona and Paul Ricard, the European Le Mans Series season will continue at Imola on 5 July, following Inter Europol Competition\u2019s upcoming challenge at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June.<\/p>\n

IMSA<\/strong><\/p>\n

Inter Europol Competition opened its 2026 IMSA campaign with two entries in the LMP2 category for the opening rounds of the season, beginning with the Rolex 24 At Daytona in January.<\/p>\n

Rolex 24 At Daytona | 24 January 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

Both the #43 and #343 entries showed competitive pace throughout the 24-hour race, delivering a double podium result to open the IMSA season with P2 and P3 finishes in the LMP2 category.<\/p>\n

12 Hours of Sebring | 21 March 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

The team followed this with a more challenging outing at Sebring, where an alternator issue impacted the race and ultimately resulted in a P11 finish. Despite the setback, the team still demonstrated impressive pace against a highly competitive LMP2 field throughout the weekend.<\/p>\n

Attention now turns towards Watkins Glen following the 24 Hours of Le Mans, as Inter Europol Competition prepares for the next round of the IMSA season at the Sahlen\u2019s Six Hours of The Glen on June 28.<\/p>\n

Introducing Reshad de Gerus<\/strong><\/p>\n

After joining Inter Europol Competition for the 2026 European Le Mans Series season, Reshad de Gerus has already established himself within the team. Securing pole position in Barcelona alongside consecutive LMP2 podium finishes, the French driver has quickly become a key part of the #34 lineup alongside Bijoy Garg.<\/p>\n

Following an impressive start to the season, we caught up with Reshad to discuss adapting to the team, the opening ELMS rounds and preparations for the upcoming 24 Hours of Le Mans.<\/p>\n

Q: How have you found working with Inter Europol Competition so far?<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m super happy with the start of our season, where we\u2019ve managed to score very good points for the championship. We\u2019ve only completed two races so far, but we\u2019ve already built a very good working relationship together as a team.\u201d<\/p>\n

Q: What has been your biggest highlight from the season up to now?<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cMy biggest highlight so far has been pole position at the opening round in Barcelona. It was a pleasure to work with the team throughout the weekend. We improved our package session by session and managed to put everything together when it counted. It was the best way to start our season.\u201d<\/p>\n

Q: How are you feeling heading towards Le Mans with the team?<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cWe have been working together since the start of ELMS and everything has gone smoothly. With the experience of the team and my teammates, I think we have a strong package, so we arrive confident but humble heading into such a demanding race.\u201d<\/p>\n

Q: Outside of racing, what do you enjoy doing away from the track?<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m a big fan of sports in general, but I especially enjoy cycling, so I spend a lot of time on the bike when I\u2019m not driving.\u201d<\/p>\n

Looking forward<\/strong><\/p>\n

Looking ahead to the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Inter Europol Competition also confirmed the addition of Nico M\u00fcller to the team\u2019s driver lineup. The Swiss driver will join the #343 LMP2 entry alongside Bijoy Garg and Reshad de Gerus for this year\u2019s race.<\/p>\n

M\u00fcller brings significant experience across endurance racing, Formula E and prototype competition, adding further strength to the team\u2019s Le Mans lineup as preparations continue for the biggest race of the season.<\/p>\n

Alongside the #343 entry, defending Le Mans winners Nick Yelloly, Tom Dillmann and Kuba Smiechowski will return in the #43 LMP2 car, giving Inter Europol Competition two highly competitive entries for this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans.<\/p>\n

Championship standings\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Following the opening rounds of the 2026 season, Inter Europol Competition holds strong positions across the European Le Mans Series, Michelin Le Mans Cup and IMSA championships.<\/p>\n

In ELMS LMP2, the #34 entry sits second in the championship following pole position in Barcelona and consecutive P2 finishes in Barcelona and Paul Ricard. The result also continues Inter Europol Competition\u2019s recent run of ELMS second-place finishes, with the team beginning to wonder if there may be a slight \u201cP2 voodoo\u201d following five runner-up finishes for the #43 entry during the 2025 season.<\/p>\n

The sister #43 ELMS LMP2 entry currently holds seventh position in the standings after showing strong pace throughout the opening rounds, despite challenging races and varying strategy outcomes.<\/p>\n

In ELMS LMP3, the #13 crew leads the championship standings by nine points following a consistent start to the season, including victory at Paul Ricard and a podium finish in Barcelona.<\/p>\n

In IMSA, Inter Europol Competition currently sits fourth in the LMP2 championship standings following the opening rounds of the season, with the team now looking ahead to Watkins Glen later this month.<\/p>\n
