Inter Europol Competition is delighted to confirm its three drivers for the #32 entry at the Centenary edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The Oreca 07 will be driven by Mark Kvamme, Anders Fjordbach and Jan Magnussen as a Pro-Am entry in the LMP2 class.<\/p>\n
In addition, the #34 Oreca will be raced by three FIA World Endurance Championship regulars – Jakub \u015amiechowski, Fabio Scherer and Albert Costa – who recently secured Inter Europol Competition\u2019s first WEC podium position at Spa-Francorchamps, giving the Polish-based team great momentum heading into the June event.<\/p>\n
For Mark, this year\u2019s very special race will also be his European LMP2 race debut, but the American racer has a wealth of GT experience dating back to 2014.<\/p>\n
He has competed at Daytona – finishing sixth this year – the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge and the LMP2 class in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Last year he raced at Le Mans in the LMGTE class as well as in the FIA World Endurance Championship.<\/p>\n
With multiple podiums in LMP2, Anders adds to the strong package and brings bags of experience from his time in the European Le Mans Series, FIA World Endurance Championship as well as in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Additionally, he won the European Le Mans Series in 2019 and has victories in the 24 hours of Dubai and at the legendary N\u00fcrburgring Nordschleife the following year.<\/p>\n
Jan meanwhile has a lengthy and highly successful career, first in single seaters where he competed moving from Formula Ford to Formula 1. He made his Le Mans debut in 1999 and enjoyed four fabulous race wins in 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2009. Jan also has multiple titles in the American Le Mans Series and IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, and most recently the GTLM title with Corvette Racing. Jan and his teammates look forward to further silverware at Circuit de la Sarthe.<\/p>\n
For Inter Europol Competition, 2023 has already seen some key milestones achieved. The first LMP2 victory for the team came at Dubai Autodrome in the Asian Le Mans Series, while round three of the FIA World Endurance Championship saw the team secure its first podium in the series.<\/p>\n
The Le Mans event proper starts with the administrative checks and scrutineering on Friday, June 2nd, with the driver parade one week later. The race begins at 16:00 on Saturday, June 10th, where the 62-car field begins the biggest sportscar race in the world.<\/p>\n
