The JS P4 has a new look for the 2024 Ligier European Series and also a new recruit in Romain Favre. The young Frenchman certainly hit the ground running here in Barcelona in what was a roller coaster of a race weekend.<\/p>\n
In a very tightly packed schedule, Romain had to get used to his new #7 race car, practice, qualify and compete in two races over the two days of running. It was impressive; second on the grid to first at the chequered flag was a sensational performance.<\/p>\n
Ultimately, post-race and after the winning and podium ceremonies, it was deemed that his pitstop mid-race was 0.029s under the minimum requirement. It was under safety car anyway, and no advantage was gained in reality, but rules are rules. +36 seconds to his race time, dropping him to ninth.<\/p>\n
Romain raced on, took the lead, and ultimately finished P1, 0.5s ahead of his nearest rival. Sadly, it was not meant to be, but he can take great pleasure and confidence from an impressive debut with Inter Europol Competition.
