Red Bull Ring (Austria)

11 May 2014

In the last race our drivers participated in the FIA-CEZ and BOSS GP Series at Red Bull Ring. Jakub Smiechowski on thursday before the event visited Slovakiaring for a testday in our Formula 3. It was a completely new experience for him. Despite the strong wind and low temperatures, no unexpected problems occured. The same kind of weather accompanied us in Red Bull Ring. Friday was the day of free practices. It wasn’t eventful but it gave our drivers time to get the track a bit better. We were ready for a fierce battle. At first the report of the BOSS GP. After qualifying Kuba was sixth. Sadly there is not much to say about the races. Kuba finished both on the fifth place despite the brakes malfunction and caught up to Johann Ledermair in the overall standings. Now on to the FIA-CEZ. The first race was brutally interrupted because of a massive crash at the start in which no less than eight cars was involved. Sadly one of them was Kuba who started from the fourth place… The race direction decided to move this race for the next day instead of the second qualifying. We weren’t able to repair the formel of our polish driver and so David was the only one who represented us on Sunday. He also didn’t escape from bad luck. In the first race after a great start and gaining a few positions, David was involved in a battle with a Ukrainian driver Danil Pronilenko. On the straight between the second and third corner, Danil pushed our competitor on the grass, causing a collision. As a result both of them had to retire from the race. Luckily the damages weren’t great and we had no problem fixing the car for the second race. The canadian had to start form the back of the grid. It was one of the best races of David in our Team. After an amazing battle he was able to secure a podium finish in his class. We would like to congratulate our drivers and we await for next succesful events!
