I was always interested in cars and racing. My first car (in 1969) was a Mini 850. But at that time, I was busy with sailing competitions (World Championships, European and German Championships with a 470 and 505) After some clubsport – events with a Cooper S and a Lotus Seven, I stopped sailing and bought my first race car in 1975. It was a Mini 1275 GT. Between 1975 and 1979 I competed in hill climb and slalom competitions because – as a student – I was short of money.
In 1979 I started my business as an Attorney and stopped motor racing until 1993. In 1993 and 1994 I competed in the Ferrari 348 Challenge. As this competition started to become too rough I changed to Historic Racing. In 1995 and 1996 I was racing a Lola T 70 (CanAm and Le Mans car) and used to win my class. During that time, I also raced a Mini Cooper S twice (1 win, 1 dnf) and 1996 and 1997 took part in endurance races with a historic Ginetta G 4 (2x 6 hours Spa – 1 podium, 1 dnf) and 1 x 24 Hours Paul Ricard (dnf). After that I stopped racing and emigrated to South Africa.
In 2005 I came back to Germany. In 2010 I made my first steps in motor racing again (practise with a 2 litre prototype in Hungary and a Radical SR 3 in Ascari). In 2011 I raced the PRC Honda in the AvD 100 Miles Series. In Monza, I saw the BOSS GP series and was fascinated. I decided to change to BOSS GP. In 2012 I had a 2003 Dallara Nissan 3l – my first monoposto – but it was not competitive. So, I sold it and bought a 3,5l car from the year 2005. With this car, I raced during 2013- 2015 and had 4 wins in the Masters class. In 2016 I bought the GP 2 but this season wasn`t very successful due to technical problems. That was the reason why I left my team (Hoffmann) at the end of 2016 and changed to Europol.
